Frequently Asked Questions

 Do I need an appointment?

No, you do not!  Please visit our store any time it is convenient for you! However, appointments are encouraged on Saturdays.

How long should I expect my visit to last and who should I bring?

You can expect to spend from 1 -1 1/2 hours with your Bridal Consultant. Any further visits may take up to an hour. We recommend bringing no more than three guests so the focus remains on you.

How long does it take for a dress to come in?

Depending on the designer and time of year, a bridal gown can take 6-8 months to come in.  However, some designers have quicker delivery times or offer a rush service an additional cost.

Do all dresses need to be ordered, or can I buy one off the rack?

Many of the dresses in our store do need to be ordered, however we do have a variety of dresses we can sell off the rack.

What is the price range for the dresses in your store

Our bridal gowns range in price from $500 to $2000 with average price range around $1200. Bridesmaid dresses range in price from $160 to $300.  Mothers dresses range in price from $200 to $400.  Flower girl dresses range in price from $100 to $250.

Do you have payment options?

A 60% deposit is required when ordering all gowns and accessories. The remaining balance is due upon the arrival of merchandise into our store.  In addition to cash or check we accept Master Card, Visa, Discover and American Express

Do you accept returns?

All sales are final.  This final sales policy is consistent with the industry standard for bridal & special occasion apparel.

How do you determine which size I will order?

We have measurement charts for each designer that we carry.  We will take your bust, waist, and hips measurements and determine where you fall on the sizing chart.  Gowns are made according to the sizing chart, not custom to your measurements.  Therefore you may need alterations to make it a perfect fit.  Additional costs may apply.

Why am I ordering 2 sizes BIGGER than my normal size?

Don’t panic! Gowns made by bridal designers are cut according to a couture size chart and run smaller than the ready to wear clothing you buy at a department store.  Most brides, bridesmaids and mothers order a gown 1-2 sizes larger than they usually wear, and that is normal.

How long do I have to pick up my dress after it comes in?

We offer complimentary storage until the day of the wedding as most of our brides do not want to worry about storing their dress! Steaming is a complimentary service on all bridal gowns.

If my bridesmaids live out of town, can I still order their dress through your store?

Yes, you can!  This is very typical, your bridesmaid can simply contact the store to order their bridesmaid gown. Gowns are made according to the designers sizing chart, not custom to her measurements.  If she lives out of town we recommend that she have her measurements taken by a professional seamstress or bridal store familiar with bridal/bridesmaid measurements.  Keep in mind that size runs differently than regular clothes, you will probably not order your normal size.  Additional charges may apply.

When should I order my bridesmaid’s dresses?

We recommend bridesmaid dresses be ordered 6-9 months in advance of the wedding to allow time for pick up and/or alter.  On average bridesmaid dress can take 4 months to arrive in our store.  Rush options are available at an additional charge.

When should I order my tuxedos?

We recommend picking out your tuxedos 4-6 months in advance.  Measurements should be taken 8 weeks prior to the wedding so we can reserve your tuxedo order.  Young children can be measured approximately 4 weeks prior to the wedding.

Do you provide alteration services?

We do offer in-house alterations for dresses purchased in our store.  However, during our peak season when our seamstresses are booked we also have a referral list of reliable seamstresses located around the area to help with our overflow.

When should I schedule my first fitting?

For bridal gowns 6 to 8 weeks before the wedding is recommended.  Bridesmaid and mother’s gowns should allow 4 weeks for alterations.  Please bring any undergarments and shoes you plan to wear on the wedding day.  Typically 2 to 3 fittings are required to ensure the proper fit.

How much should I expect to pay for alterations?

Alterations are at an additional charge. The cost of alterations will vary depending on the style of gown, the fabric and detail, as well as the alterations needed. Most bridal gown alterations will run between $200-$350.  Most bridesmaid’s dresses alterations will run between $35-$75 and most mother’s/special occasion gowns will run $35-$100. You will be given an estimate at the first fitting.  Alterations must be paid in cash or check to the seamstress at the 2nd fitting.
